Leading nutrition products company ,Nestle appears too be worried over the poor market performance of its 3 in1 variant of Nescafe, its iconic instant coffee brand .Last November, Nescafe hurriedly launched an in store promo, in Abuja apparently aimed at enticing more consumers to give the Nescafe variant a try.
The give aways which were hand towels, note pads and ball point pens simply were not enticing enough for Nescafe consumers who are mostly men.By November,2024, it appeared that a new strategy was at play.
The well loved Nescafe classic virtually disappeared from the market. The market was rather awash with the Nescafe 3 in1 variant. Perhaps the thinking was,I its only the 3n1 that was available Nescafe lovers would be compelled to have it.
So far,it is unclear how well that strategy worked for Nescafe handlers.Calls to Nestle Nigeria for comments went unanswered.
The Nescafe 3n11 variant was introduced few years ago into the Nigerian market, perhaps, based on market dynamics especially consumer taste.Yet it appears that Nigerian coffee drinkers love their Nescafe classic so much and are not changing soon.
