One of the country's leading indigenous computer makers, Omatek Computers Plc is in the midst of a restructuring of its marketing operations.The revamp which may have begun since the second quarter of the year is believed to yet be ongoing. The computer-maker's head of marketing ,Kayode Yeku has however recently quit his job, MarketingDay can reveal. The journal could not confirm if Yeku's departure had anything to do with company's restructuring of its marketing which may include its advertising roster. When contacted on telephone, Yeku said his leaving Omatek was a personal decision and was not prompted by the company's management.

One of the country's leading PR practitioners and businessmen, Oloye Dotun Olarewaju Okubanjo is dead. He was aged 84 years. For two decades, Dotun Okubanjo was among a group of businessmen and industrialists who dominated the Nigerian industrial landscape. Among this group were legendary businessman, late Chief Henry Fajemirokun, Late Chief Adeyemi Lawson, late Chief Jimoh Odutola, Chief Timothy Odutola, Chief Chris Ogunbanjo, the Dantata Family and Samuel Adedoyin (Doyin Industries). Before his foray into business, Oloye Okubanjo was a PR consultant to the Federal Government. He had trained in the United Kingdom in the early 1960s,and returned home to work with the government. He subsequently moved to the private sector.

Barclays is looking to exploit all moments of sportsmanship around the British Premier League with a sponsorship campaign created to help burnish the brand.
Barclays is hoping football can help repair its brand.
The push begins later this month at the start of the new professional football season and is the first time in several years that the bank has developed a major marketing campaign around the tournament, according to MarketingWeek.

The bitter rivalry between the iphone and its Android opponent, Galaxy smartphone is hotting up further with the Galaxy S3's new commercial poking fun at iPhone loyalists yet again. The spot is coming barely two weeks after the celebrated release of the iphone5 by Apple. Galaxy s3 digital video is said to have gained 2.3 million YouTube views within a day. A US court ruling in August which awarded $1billion in compensation to Apple for iphone patent violations by Samsung for several of its rival smartphone offerings including the Galaxy has raised controversy and put global focus on competition between the two. Although iphone has enjoyed roaring success, Samsung's Andriod phones including Droid and Galaxy re believed to have outsold the former.
